Dear President Obama,
Congratulations. America has selected you to lead us through this difficult time. I'm sure you have a lot of hard choices to make, so why not start with an easy one? A fun one. A decision that will endear you to the American people and leave behind a proud legacy.
Please endorse and recognize Does It Fry Day as a national holiday.
It would be so easy, and just think of it. What can be more American, more patriotic than fried food? When you spoke about reaching across the isle on your campaign trail, you probably weren't thinking it would be an easy task. However, what's more universally loved than fried food? Our holiday could easily bring lefty pinko liberals and god-fearing, gun-tottin' conservatives together, around a large plate of onion rings, tempura, or fish sticks. The whole nation would come together and join hands and later then wipe those because fried food is greasy. And they would thank you for it. You. The visionary leader who had the strength of character to stand up for a food preparation technique that has for too long been cast aside as an unhealthy, deeply flawed, and unfashionable approach. It is time we took a stand.
So what do you say? Will you give our nation what it's needed for so long and recognize National Does It Fry day?
I the undersigned petition you to make it a reality.
In deep crispiness,
